Job Title: Python Developer – AWS / IaC / REST APIs Location: Remote / Hybrid / Onsite (as applicable) Experience Level: 4–8 years (Flexible based on skill depth) Employment Type: Full-time / Contract About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled Python Developer with strong expertise in modern development practices, AWS cloud-native services, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable, maintainable, and secure backend solutions, adhering to best practices like trunk-based development, static type checking, and code linting. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying serverless applications, building RESTful APIs, and implementing automation and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend services and serverless applications using Python. Implement and manage AWS cloud services, including Lambda, DynamoDB (DDB), S3, and API Gateway. Develop and expose REST APIs following industry best practices for scalability, performance, and security. Leverage Poetry for dependency management and packaging, ensuring clean and reproducible builds. Apply MyPy for static type checking and Ruff for linting to maintain code quality and consistency. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform. Work within a trunk-based development model with CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and stable releases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Frontend, Product) to deliver end-to-end solutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold engineering excellence. Troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance, and ensure high availability. Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong proficiency in Python (3.x) and solid understanding of OOP and functional programming concepts. Experience with Poetry for dependency management. Familiarity with MyPy (static type checking) and Ruff (linting and formatting). Proven experience with AWS services: Lambda (serverless functions) DynamoDB (DDB) (NoSQL data modeling) S3 (storage and object lifecycle management) API Gateway (REST API management and integrations) Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation and/or Terraform. Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and trunk-based development workflows. Familiarity with Git and modern version control practices. Solid understanding of software testing, debugging, and logging. Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certification (Developer Associate / Solutions Architect) is a plus. Experience with other AWS services such as Step Functions, CloudWatch, or EventBridge. Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/Fargate). Exposure to modern development tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
