Profile Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the Deposit and General Ledger (GL) product replacement initiatives as part of a broader EMEA transformation programme, called MIT&BIT. The role involves overseeing the transition from legacy host-based systems to modern platforms such as Finastra Fusion Midas or Oracle Flexcube for the Deposit domain, while ensuring the successful integration of Oracle GL system across both global and regional architecture. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing large-scale projects across multiple regions, collaboration with global teams, and handling complex system interfaces, including those with customer channels and statement, risk management, and data system.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Project Leadership : Lead the Deposit and GL Management System Replacement feasibility study, ensuring alignment with the overall MIT BIT program’s goals and timelines. Deposit and GL experience is must.
• Vendor and System Selection: Facilitate to oversee the selection of the Deposit system, including evaluating Finastra Fusion Midas and Oracle Flexcube as potential solutions, and collaborate with Head Office team on shared service implementations if Oracle Flexcube is selected.
• Manage to System Integration : Manage the coexistence of global Oracle GL systems with EMEA-specific Oracle GL/FS, ensuring that both systems are seamlessly integrated and meet business and regulatory requirement.
• Stakeholder Management : Engage with senior stakeholders across headquarters, US, and within the European context to ensure clear communication, alignment and support for the project.
• Business Communication: Maintain close communication with business stakeholders across functions, as well as operations and Finance department, ensuring that project deliverables align with both regional and global business requirements.
• Architecture Design: Collaborate with EMEA/Global architects to design an interface architecture that connects the GL systems and Deposit system with customer channel (CMS), information systems, and risk management solutions.
• Planning & Coordination : Develop detail project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies, ensuring all deliverables are met within budget and scope.
• Software Development Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the software development lifecycle(SDLC) for the replacement system, ensuring best practices are followed and quality standards are met.
• Risk Management & Escalation : Identify potential risks and issues proactively across all delivery activities, and manage them through appropriate mitigation strategies, escalating when necessary to ensure the overall program remains on track.
• Reporting : Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior management on risks, and issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategy goals.
• Budget Management : Monitor project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective delivery of project outcomes.
• Team collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Business units, to ensure the successful integration and implementation of the new system and future projects.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• PMP, PRINCE2 or similar project management certification (Desirable)
• In-depth understanding of the software development process and overall project life cycle (Essential)
• In-depth knowledge and work experience of banking product and finance, and a strong understanding of the regulatory environment in the banking sector. (Essential)
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT Project management, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects within complex, multinational organizations, Experience in managing long-term assignments and contributing to multiple projects within a broader program is highly valued. (Essential)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and control external application vendors such as Finastra and Oracle (GL or Flexcube), ensuring they meet project requirements and timelines. (Essential)
• Strong negotiation skills to handle any challenges that arise with the vendor (Desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple regions, including Europe, with a clear understanding of reginal and global impact. (Essential)
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience overseeing all stages from requirements gathering to development and post- implementation support. (Essential)
