Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer – Digital Business Automation to support the transformation of our enterprise automation services. The team currently operates several large-scale workload automation and managed file transfer platforms that depend heavily on third-party vendor products.
Our goal is to evolve toward modern, open-source, and cloud-native engineering practices, reducing dependency on proprietary software and building a culture of innovation, automation, and end-to-end ownership.
This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of Digital Business Automation by introducing modern engineering standards, strengthening DevSecOps capabilities, and guiding the team through technical and cultural transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering transformation of Digital Business Automation platforms.
Drive adoption of open-source and cloud-native technologies across enterprise automation services.
Provide technical leadership for workload automation, job scheduling, and managed file transfer (MFT) platforms.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient automation architectures.
Reduce reliance on vendor-specific solutions by introducing modern engineering frameworks and automation tools.
Promote and embed DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
Mentor and upskill engineering teams to broaden expertise beyond product administration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including platform engineering, security, and cloud teams.
Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, compliance, scalability, and performance.
Provide technical governance and guidance on platform modernization initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience in enterprise workload automation and job scheduling platforms (e.g., Control-M).
Hands-on experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions.
Proven experience working with DevOps / DevSecOps practices.
Strong background in open-source technologies and cloud-native architectures.
Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of automation frameworks, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience leading engineering teams or technical transformation initiatives.
Strong knowledge of system architecture, scalability, and security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience modernizing legacy automation platforms.
Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a passion for developing engineering capability.
