Role: Oracle Database Administrator

Experience: 7years

Location: Swan Court, 11 Worple Road, Wimbledon, London, SW19 4JS

Work Mode: Onsite

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Design, create, and configure Oracle databases including setting appropriate database parameters.

2. Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and efficiency.

3. Manage database backup and recovery using Oracle tools and utilities.

4. Utilize database tools such as Data Pump for export/import operations.

5. Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues proactively.

6. Implement and manage database security policies and user access controls.

7. Work with cloud services, specifically AWS S3 for storage and AWS RDS for managed database instances.

8. Develop, maintain, and optimize complex PL/SQL stored procedures in a large-scale Oracle 21c environment

9. Implement best practices for PL/SQL development, including code organization, error handling, and performance optimization

10. Refactor and modernize existing PL/SQL code to improve efficiency and maintainability

11. Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database logic using PL/SQL

12. Create and maintain documentation for PL/SQL procedures and packages

13. Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers in PL/SQL best practices

14. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to align database solutions with business requirements.

15. Lead and mentor a team of DBAs and coordinate tasks to ensure smooth database operations.

16. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates, reports, and recommendations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Extensive experience (7+ years) in Oracle database administration and PL/SQL development (ideal skill is DBA on Oracle 21c on RDS)

2. Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL, including complex stored procedures, functions, and packages

3. Strong understanding of PL/SQL best practices, such as:

4. Using consistent naming conventions and code formatting

5. Implementing proper error handling and exception management

6. Utilizing modular design principles for maintainable code

7. Optimizing PL/SQL performance through efficient coding techniques

8. Experience managing large-scale PL/SQL codebases with thousands of stored procedures

9. Expertise in PL/SQL debugging and troubleshooting techniques

10. Proficiency in version control systems for managing PL/SQL code

11. Excellent business communication and interpersonal skills.

12. Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a team.

13. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
