⃣ Build Phase – Pre-Installation Activities:
✅ Verify & Validate the Bill of Materials (active & passive components).
✅ Receive and Inspect network equipment (switches, APs, controllers, firewalls).
✅ Rack and Stack devices in designated positions as per the layout plan.
✅ Cable Management: Identify and label network cables for installation.
✅ Power Setup: Verify available PDU sockets and install redundant power sources if required.
✅ Provide Console Access for Infosys remote engineers to configure the devices.
2️⃣ Cutover Phase – Installation & Migration Activities:
✅ Physically replace & install network devices, including:
• Switches (Core, Distribution, and Access Switches)
• Wireless Access Points (Ceiling/Wall Mounted)
• Gateway Controllers
• Firewalls
✅ Cable Patching:
• Perform inter-rack & intra-rack patching with copper and fiber cables.
• Ensure neat dressing and labeling of cables inside the racks.
✅ Swapping Connections: Migrate endpoint connections from old to new switches.
✅ Testing: Conduct power-on and connectivity tests for all installed devices.
✅ User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Work with on-site contacts to verify device functionality.
✅ Document Installation & Spare Materials: Submit a list of installed devices and leftover materials.
✅ Take Before & After Photos of racks, patch panels, and cabling.
🛠 Engineer Requirements & Preparation:
✔ Carry Laptop with console cable, installed software (Putty, Webex, Teams).
✔ Personal Safety Gear: Helmet, safety shoes, reflective jacket, gloves(if required)
✔ Tools Required: Screwdrivers, cable testers, label printer, anti-static mat.
✔ Health & Safety Compliance (site-specific certifications if needed).
✔ Coordinate with Infosys /Siemens SME for remote configuration and guidance.
✔ Internet Connectivity: Use mobile hotspot for remote access (client network cannot be used).
Here are some of the points that H&F engineer have to ensure to :-
- Make sure the H&F engineer’s email ID & contact No. provided by you are active and working. Whatsapp application should be configured on their device.
- All invitation will send on that email ID
- Whatsapp application will be use for direct communication with engineer and group creation.
- Bring Pan head screws (1 ¼) – 30mm for AP mounting bracket installation (5 per AP’s) - No of APS - XX
- Download the CP210X_Universal Driver this is for the HPE Console Driver. Console cable for HPE devices is already at site.

- Download and install Putty application on the laptop
- Download the Webex application and install it in the laptop.
- Bring Console cable RS232 for consoling Firewall
- Carry Drilling machine for installing mounting brackets for Access Points
- Bring Label printer with tape
- Bring Velcro tapes, Cabe tie for grooming the cables
- Carry Pen Drive minimum 4 GB Free space (Please declare this with on-site security)
- Need to have internet provision, if in case guest wi-fi not available
