The purpose of this position is to lead various BI development teams from technical standpoint ensuring efficient BI operations leading to optimum performance. Work closely with BI development & analytics teams during the design and hands-on implementation of multi-dimensional database models (logical and physical), data marts, data warehousing, data transforms, data analytics and reporting solutions.
MAIN DUTIES
Define, deliver, and continually improve the strategic technical data implementation capability including core processes, tools and standards, including cloud-based technology
Strategically deliver consistent data solutions that align to the Data Management Standards/Policies whilst balancing pragmatism towards improving business developed solutions
Create, optimise, and schedule ETL packages, analysis services cubes and reporting/information systems ensuring all developed components adhere to published standards and conventions.
Work alongside BI Analysts to gather requirements through solicitation sessions with business users and translate requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan.
Be responsible as the technical owner of the Chaucer’s enterprise Data warehouse and assume architecture, design decision duties and the impact of changes to overall data ecosystem
Working with internal departments, external data suppliers and business partners to source new datasets that will grow and enhance data driven decisions
BI development – ensure that our Data warehouse development standards are aligned to our SDLC and data strategy and that our systems are reliable, scalable, and relevant and appropriate while promoting best practices within the BI development teams.
Plan and organise the translation of functional specifications into technical design and test scenarios and execute test plans.

Lead team members, providing guidance, motivation and direction to ensure work is produced to a good and consistent standard.
Work alongside various scrum teams following agile methodologies and manage incoming demands and instil agile best practices within the BI development teams. Also work with product owners and other leads in the data teams to assist with strategic initiatives.
