Primary Skills:
• Good knowledge on Mainframe infrastructure which involves console and batch operations skills. • Must have experience with HMC operations. • 4+ years of experience in handling international customer environments with hands on knowledge on IPL, Console hardware alerts, CICS, MQ, DB2 related alerts and procedures.
Secondary Skills:
• 2+ years of experience handling batch abends and fixing batch related issues. • Good experience managing business SLA and escalation process.
Good to Have Skills:

Job Description:
Mainframe Operations specialist Candidate will be part of mainframe Operations Center team responsible for end-to-end monitoring of Mainframe infrastructure and Batch Operations for one of the biggest Mainframe Installation in Europe, running operations for 2nd largest Bank in Nordics region. Candidate primarily need to take care of end-to-end infrastructure support via console operations by driving optimization and automation initiatives. Candidate will collaborate closely with the Developers across the bank and infrastructure teams and there is an opportunity to upskill technical knowledge. Responsibilities - • Performing system health checks. • Perform IPL on all the LPARs during maintenance window and troubleshooting during the IPL. • Handling the hardware related issues, raising the service request with the h/w provider. • Replying to WTOR’s referring to process documents. • Handling resource contentions and taking actions for alerts on production system. • Performing DR Tests. • Enabling the Transactions through automation and commands as well. • Monitoring batch jobs and taking care of production batch job abends by following written instructions and escalation mechanisms. • Adhoc request to Schedule particular jobs, applications, and periods in OPC. • Changing the Priorities and the Service Classes of the Regions/job if required • Interacting and following up with the job owners and application teams for any batch related issues. • Resolution of abends: restart, mark complete, cancel jobs, analysing late jobs, etc through OPC scheduler. • Making sure that the issues are resolved within the SLA. • Participating in bridge calls and discussions regarding implementations and changes. • Preparing reports and documents. • Attending daily calls and change meetings.
