Role Details:
- Position: Java L3 Support Engineer
- Location: London, UK
- Work Mode: Onsite (5 days/week initially)
- Contract Duration: 6+ month
- Prior experience working in Banking / Financial Services environments is highly preferred
- Exposure to trading systems, payments, risk systems, or core banking platforms is a strong advantage
- Understanding of high-availability, low-latency systems and regulatory environments is beneficial
Key Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java
- Solid expertise in SQL
- Good working knowledge of UNIX
- Proven experience in L3 / Production Support roles
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in live environments
- Provide L3 production support for critical Java-based applications
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, ensuring minimal downtime
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams
- Monitor application performance and proactively identify risks/issues
- Support release deployments, patches, and environment stability
- Participate in incident management, including major incident calls
- Ensure adherence to SLA, compliance, and operational standards
- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java (multithreading, collections, performance tuning)
- Solid expertise in SQL (query optimization, troubleshooting)
- Good working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
- Experience with production support tools, logging, and monitoring systems
- Familiarity with incident management and ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow)
