Job Description
Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join their team on an ongoing contract basis. This role will involve providing essential IT support to a large user community on the Singapore campus, as well as deploying new technologies to enhance business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware & Software Support: Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop technology hardware and software, ensuring smooth operation across the user base.
- Audio-Visual Setup: Assist in the setup and operation of audio-visual hardware for meeting rooms and end-user requirements.
- Technology Deployment: Support the roll-out, deployment, and upgrade of desktop devices using imaging tools such as SCCM and Intune.
- Incident Management: Respond to IT incidents promptly, maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring follow-up with users to resolve issues effectively.
- Office Relations: Assist with moving, disconnecting, and reconnecting desktop hardware during office moves, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Systems Administration: Provide business-as-usual (BAU) systems administration and support across technology infrastructure components.
- Telephony Support: Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of office telephone systems when required.
- Asset management: Maintain accurate records for all corporate hardware and software assets, tracking lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Utilize ServiceNow to log and track support work, ensuring all incidents and requests are properly recorded and monitored.
Essential Skills:
- ServiceNow experience for incident management.
- Proficiency in MS Windows 10 & 11, and MS Office 365, including OneDrive.
- Strong experience with SCCM and Intune for imaging and deployment of desktop devices.
- Expertise in network imaging, PXE boat, and remote support tools.
- Familiarity with network patching and cabling.
- Hands-on experience with server room/comms room management.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Experience:
- At least two years of commercial experience providing desktop support in a professional IT environment.
- In-depth understanding of operating systems, software, hardware, and networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- A flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
