Data Engineer

Data initiative is a federated model to make enterprise data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable, enabling business units to define and manage standardized, documented data products. This enables efficient reporting, compliance, and AI readiness.
As part of this initiative, the Regulatory Affairs team is working to create IDMP-compliant data products by integrating data from multiple systems. The target format adheres to the ISO standard for Identification of Medicinal Products (IDMP).
Location: Preferably on location.
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support this effort.
- Technical Skills:
- Data Modelling: Proven experience in translating business requirements into scalable and efficient data models. Knowledge of data modelling principles including dimensional modelling (Kimball methodology).
- Dbt (Data Build Tool): Proficiency in using dbt for data transformation and modeling, including experience with creating models, tests, and documentation. Well-versed with dbt best practices.
- Snowflake: In-depth knowledge of Snowflake architecture, data warehousing concepts, and experience in optimizing performance and cost. Experience with Streamlit development and publishing data products on the marketplace.
- Python: Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data manipulation and automation.
- Familiarity with Dagster for orchestrating data pipelines, including the ability to design and manage data workflows are advantageous.
- Knowledge of AWS tech stack (S3 bucket etc)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate discussions around data needs and requirements.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within pharma or research.
- Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end data projects, from requirement gathering to implementation and maintenance.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with data governance and best practices in data management.
- Understanding of BI tools (e.g. PoweBI) is a plus.
- Certifications related to data engineering or analytics (e.g., dbt, Snowflake) are advantageous.
