Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Foundation Data Platform Configuration/Implementation Consultant to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in accelerating the deployment and configuration of the new Foundation Data Platform, ensuring it is production-ready and aligned with our organizational needs. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various aspects of data integration technology, metadata management, operational data store (ODS), data lake house, and security control frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Data Integration Technology:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient data integration solutions.
Configure and optimize data integration tools and platforms to facilitate seamless data flow across the organization.
Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues as they arise.
Metadata Management:
Develop and implement metadata management strategies to ensure data lineage, quality, and governance.
Establish and maintain metadata repositories and cataloging processes.
Collaborate with data stakeholders to capture and document metadata requirements.
Operational Data Store (ODS):
Design and implement an efficient ODS to store and serve as a central repository for operational data.
Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and availability in the ODS.
Collaborate with data consumers to define ODS access and usage patterns.
Data Lake House:
Configure and maintain the data lake house infrastructure, including data storage, processing, and analytics components.
Implement data partitioning, compression, and optimization techniques for performance improvements.
Monitor data lake house health and performance, troubleshooting and optimizing as needed.
Security Control Framework:
Establish and enforce security controls and policies for data assets within the Foundation Data Platform.
Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and data masking techniques to safeguard sensitive data.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Requirements:
Proven experience in configuring and implementing data integration solutions and tools.
Strong background in metadata management practices and tools.
Hands-on experience with building and maintaining operational data stores.
Expertise in data lake house architecture and management.
Familiarity with security control frameworks and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to work on-site in Sheffield at least 3 days a week.
