Job Title: Hands & Feet Support Engineer / Data Center Support
Job Summary
The Hands & Feet Support Engineer provides onsite technical support in data centers or client locations by performing physical IT infrastructure tasks. The role involves assisting remote teams with hardware installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational activities to ensure smooth IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite “hands and feet” support for remote infrastructure and network teams.
- Install, rack, stack, and cable servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
- Perform hardware replacement (disks, memory, power supplies, network cards, etc.).
- Support data center activities including patching, labeling, and cable management.
- Monitor hardware status and report incidents to remote support teams.
- Assist with server reboots, console access, and device configuration as instructed.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of servers, network devices, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain asset inventory and update documentation.
- Follow data center safety, security, and compliance procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware delivery and maintenance activities.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of servers, networking, and data center operations.
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows/Linux basics).
- Familiarity with cabling standards and hardware components.
