Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Buying Channel Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic approach to optimize buying channels. This involves understanding business needs, market trends, and leveraging industry best practices.
  • Data Analysis and Channel Identification: Analyze spend data to identify potential new buying channels. Propose and validate new channels based on data-driven insights and business requirements.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to create and expand buying

channels. Foster strong relationships and negotiate terms that benefit both parties while ensuring a steady supply chain and cost-effective solutions.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve buying processes and systems. Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in procurement operations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and align buying channels accordingly. Provide expert advice and support to ensure optimal procurement decisions.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of market developments, new technologies, and potential supplier networks. Utilize this knowledge to maintain and improve buying channel effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure all buying activities comply with company policies and legal standards. Prepare reports on buying channel performance and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in procurement, specifically in developing and managing buying channels.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in spend data analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in procurement and supply chain management.
