Position Title: Business Analyst (Merchant Onboarding)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Business Analyst with specialized experience in merchant onboarding to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing and streamlining the onboarding process for merchants, ensuring efficient integration with our platform. This position will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management, compliance, and technical teams, to ensure a seamless and efficient experience for merchants.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchant Onboarding Process Management:
- Lead the end-to-end process for onboarding merchants onto the platform.
- Collect, document, and analyze merchant requirements for integration, including technical specifications, compliance, and operational needs.
- Identify and recommend improvements to optimize the onboarding experience.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Track onboarding performance metrics, including success rates, time to onboard, and merchant feedback.
- Use data insights to refine processes and drive efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and present regular reports to key stakeholders, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams (product, engineering, compliance) and external merchants.
- Work with product managers to prioritize features and enhancements to the onboarding platform.
- Facilitate communication and feedback loops between all relevant parties to resolve onboarding-related issues promptly.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure merchant onboarding processes are compliant with relevant regulations such as KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering).
- Collaborate with risk management teams to assess merchant risk profiles and ensure the business adheres to legal and regulatory standards.
Process Improvement:
- Evaluate current onboarding processes and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or areas for enhancement.
- Develop and implement recommendations to improve operational efficiency and enhance the merchant experience.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and trends related to merchant onboarding.
Documentation & Training:
- Create and maintain detailed onboarding documentation, including process flows, integration guides, and FAQ resources.
- Provide training to internal teams and merchants on onboarding procedures and tools.
- Offer support and troubleshooting assistance during the onboarding process.
System Integration & Testing:
- Work closely with technical teams to integrate merchants into the platform’s systems, ensuring data accuracy and seamless transaction processing.
- Conduct testing and validation of system integration efforts, ensuring smooth operations from a merchant perspective.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with a focus on merchant onboarding or payment platforms.
- Experience in working with payment gateways, e-commerce platforms, or financial services is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with APIs, integration protocols, and merchant payment systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, etc.).
- Knowledge of industry regulations, including PCI DSS, KYC, and AML.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Compliance Understanding: Working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to merchant onboarding.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in onboarding merchants for e-commerce platforms or payment systems.
- Strong understanding of risk management practices in financial services.
- Familiarity with agile methodology and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
