The MSS Operations Technology (MSSOT) FX Metals & Treasury is a sub-department within Markets & Security Services that touches upon every part of a Trade Life-cycle mainly focused on post trade and middle office activities. The MSSOT asset class is responsible for applications that allow the business lines to undertake activities such as Reconciliations, Cash & Liquidity Management, Confirmations and Matching, Settlement and Payment, Exception Management, MI Reporting and other critical Post-Trade functions. MSSOT is globally distributed with IT Teams in India, China, UK, US, Canada and Mexico. A range of various technologies are deployed across the asset class with applications being a mix of Home Grown and Vendor software.
The Team you’d specifically be joining within MSSOT FX Metals & Treasury is responsible for Cash & Liquidity Management (CaLM) with Cash Management Operations & Markets Treasury as primary users & stakeholders.
Cash Management Operations use Smartstream’s Real Time Cash Management (RTCM/CMS Ver. 2.9) to pro-actively manage cash and intraday liquidity cash positions of the Bank. The objective is to optimize cash resources effectively, reduce funding cost and minimise intraday liquidity risk. A single instance of this application is deployed globally using a home-grown middleware DML application to fetch and process cashflows from various sources with Oracle 19c as the underlying database. CMS provisions for both intra-day and end-of-day funding projections for all the deployed entities in real-time.
Since past 2 years the CaLM Business & IT are assessing the intra-day and end-of-day liquidity management capabilities with a view to enhancing the same and defining a target state with a view to achieving a more comprehensive and robust capability while ensuring regulatory compliance.
