Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Broadcast Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the technical equipment used in television, radio, and live streaming productions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with broadcast systems, signal flow, and audiovisual infrastructure in studio and field environments.
🛠Key Responsibilities:
Operate broadcast equipment including cameras, switchers, audio mixers, teleprompters, and encoders.
Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot live broadcast signals (HD-SDI, IP streaming, RF, satellite).
Ensure smooth transmission and recording of live events, news, and studio programming.
Maintain and repair broadcast systems (e.g., routers, servers, intercoms, monitors, patch bays).
Collaborate with production, engineering, and editorial teams to ensure quality output.
Perform system checks, backup procedures, and preventative maintenance.
Log broadcast operations activities and generate incident reports as needed.
Assist with remote (OB – Outside Broadcast) setups including camera rigs, power, and comms.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Broadcast Technology, Electronics, Media Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years’ experience in a live broadcast or production environment.
Strong understanding of signal flow (analog, digital, IP-based).
Familiarity with tools like video routers, waveform monitors, VTRs, ENG systems, audio consoles, graphics systems.
Working knowledge of broadcast automation, Playout servers, IPTV, or OTT workflows is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications in AV/broadcast (SMPTE, SBE, AVIXA CTS) are a plus.
Experience with streaming platforms (e.g., Wowza, OBS, vMix, AWS Elemental).
Understanding of broadcast standards (SDI, NDI, AES/EBU, Dante, ATSC, DVB).
Basic networking (IP addressing, VLANs) and IT troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
Work Conditions:
Shift work, nights/weekends/holidays as required by production schedule.
Physical tasks may include lifting equipment (up to 25kg), standing for long periods.
Field deployment (remote/live events) may be necessary.
