Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site mounting and installation of wireless Access Points (ceiling, wall, pole, outdoor, industrial environments).
- Review and interpret network design documents, floor plans, and AP placement heatmaps.
- Conduct site surveys (pre-installation and post-installation) to validate optimal AP positioning.
- Mount APs using approved brackets, mounting kits, and cabling standards.
- Coordinate with network engineers to ensure correct AP labeling, connectivity, and placement.
- Perform basic AP activation steps—connecting to switches, verifying LED status, and reporting issues.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations and customer site policies.
- Document installation details including AP location, serial numbers, photos, and mounting validations.
- Troubleshoot minor physical installation issues (cabling, alignment, bracket issues, power).
- Provide daily progress updates to project managers or deployment leads.
- Support cutover activities when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in AP mounting or field installation work (Wi-Fi, telecom, cabling, IT infrastructure).
- Knowledge of mounting tools (drills, anchors, ladders, safety equipment).
- Understanding of basic networking concepts (PoE, switches, cabling standards).
- Ability to read site plans, floor maps, and network diagrams.
- Familiarity with indoor and outdoor mounting environments.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work at heights and follow safety protocols.
